TRAVEL : THE EDITION MIAMI
THE HOTEL
If you live in New York City, sometime you just need a quick get a way from all the hustle and bustle of this crazy city. My husband and I have been busy working so much these days so we decided for Father’s Day weekend, to take a quick weekend trip to Miami with our son Lucien. We have been wanting to try out the Edition Miami designed by one of our favorite hoteliers Ian Schrager. This chic and minimal luxury hotel definitely feels like a home away from home. I absolutely love the little details and all the thought that went into designing this hotel.
Upon entering the white and cream chill ambient lobby our olfactory senses were happily greeted by a beautiful scent of some kind of rose blend fragrance. Later I found out that this exclusive scent throughout the Edition Hotel was specially created by Le Labo, a New York based luxury perfumerie in Nolita (233 Elizabeth Street). Le Labo uses cruelty free essential oils to create custom blends of perfumes for its clients. The hotel’s signature rose blend scent is found throughout the entire hotel as well as the in room body lotions, soaps and candles.
Our room was bright and airy, beautifully designed with gorgeous sleek light wood and spacious. A large flat screen equipped with Netflix.
POOLSIDE
Although it occasionally rained, we spent most of our time lounging by the pool soaking in the sun. Lucien didn’t want to stop swimming so thats all he did. Poolside service was great and very attentive, the constantly came around to make sure we had everything we needed. Better than most Miami hotels I have stayed at, I have to say. Jarrod and I mostly stuck to margaritas with mezcal of course.
Everyone at the pool was obsessed with this MILF Necklace. Especially the dads

PRE-DINNER: OYSTERS AT THE MARKET
Not much to eat at this place besides pizza and pasta so we just had Rosé and Oysters before heading out to dinner at the Matador. I love oysters!
DINING: THE MATADOR ROOM
Our favorite was the Matator Restaurant by world renown chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten’s eclectic take on Americanized Latin cuisine. Being half Hispanic, I could have done with a bit more garlic and spice but the dishes were still very tasty and beautifully presented. My favorites stand outs are the: Shishito Peppers, Iberico Ham and Potato Croquettes, The Charred Octopus and the Roasted Snapper.
KIDS ENTERTAINMENT: THE BOWLING ALLEY
Ian Schrager is known for being really thoughtful when designing “family friendly” hotels, especially when it comes to fun kid-like features like a neon lit bowling alley and ice skating rink in the basement with a full bar. I was actually surprised to see how well designed it was and fun for the kids (and adults). If its raining outside, this is a must. I personally don’t really care for bowling and was into the club-like design and neon lights. It reminded me a bit of when I used to go to raves at the Roxy nightclub back in the day.
